Be prepared to be "interviewed" by the service writer that may ask many questions to gather as much information as possible to assist in duplicating or understanding the issues to successfully complete the repair. This could take several minutes however it's the best way for us to understand the issues. It is always best to have the driver that experienced the issues bring in the truck for service so the questions are being asked to the individual with the most experience/understanding of the issues.

Provide as much information as possible:

When bringing your truck in for repairs it is really important to give your dealer as much information as possible. The more information you can provide about the problem the easier it is for us to diagnose the problem and fix it correctly.

Does the problem occur:

  • During a specific time of day?
  • During a specific type of weather condition? Rain, snow, high/low temperatures
  • When traveling or while idle?
  • Do any other problems come before or after?

Ask if there are projected future problems:

Asking whether or not there are expected future problems will give you a better understanding of what you need to keep your eye on. Knowing ahead of time will help you make sure you get the truck into service right when it's needed. This will help reduce any additional problems/damages/downtime that could generate.

Ask for current specials:

Hill International Trucks offers monthly specials that are there to help our customers save on services they already need to get. Hill also tries to coordinate our specials between our parts and service departments to maximize the amount of savings for our customers.

Ask Questions:

At Hill International Trucks we want our customers to understand what is necessary to fix on their trucks. If you are unsure or would like clarification, please ask us. The more you know and understand about your truck the better care you can take of it.
